The Role
I loved the experience, the work I did was varied and I learnt the significance of every task I was given.
Everyone was extremely welcoming. My colleagues not only made me feel completely at ease but helped me with every task I did and were more than happy to answer all of my questions. I was given praise for all the work I did well, and received valuable feedback on how to improve upon certain tasks.

Normal hours were 9.30-5.30 daily. I was given numerous tasks every day in order to make sure that I learnt as much as possible from the internship.
I was given full responsibility for every task I was given; however, I received help from my managers and graduate buddy if I had any questions at all. I was taught how to interact with clients, and was allowed to ask the client any questions regarding my work.
It's definitely given me a head start for my graduate placement. I feel as though I have gained numerous skills, (eg, interacting with the client, learning how to do specific testing, learning some accountancy principles) that are very useful not only in my degree (economics) but also in my future career.
The Company
It was relaxed. Everyone worked hard; however, lunch breaks were always fun and social! We had team lunches and drinks which were good opportunities to learn more about the company and job, but also a chance to get to know my colleagues on a more personal level.
Everything was set up efficiently. The recruitment process was speedy, and my questions were always answered.
Everyone was willing to help train me. The firm invested a lot of time both in the office/client site, but also by organising seminars on self-belief/confidence building and networking events to ensure that we gained the most that we could from the experience.

I loved working with the firm, and hopefully have many more years ahead with them! The climb up the ranks within the company were explained to me in detail, and I am therefore well aware of the hard work required to succeed.
The Culture
Yes, we had regular socials-going for dinner, or the cinema. It was all organised by the interns-but was a great opportunity to meet my peers!
Our office was in London and therefore was expensive-however, we managed to find cheap things to do!
We didn't go as a group to explore the nightlife-however, I heard from other grads that it is ver good!
At a networking event, we met colleagues within the company to explained some of the groups open to us (eg, religious groups/sports clubs). There is also the opportunity to take part in charity events and give back to the community-something that KPMG is really invested in, and something that appeals to me greatly!
