The Role
The internship was good experience overall. However, expected to learn more technical skills and understand more of the core day to day activities of the business. However, I was more involved in some specific niche fields. The work hours and social life benefits were great but the learning experience could have been by far better.
I was given some freedom for my projects and their outcomes were appreciated by my colleagues. People were expecting you to provide a good quality valuable work.
Everyone was very willing to help and we had frequent catch ups to discuss the progress on my projects.
There were a few projects going on at the same time which kept me busy. Prioritisation of the tasks was up to me.
I was responsible for particular fields that I was researching. However, I wasn't too involved in day to day business operations. I was not responsible for any essential business functions.
Internship needed some skills gained in the university. However, less sure about the opposite, if skills gained will be very useful in further studies.
The Company
Very friendly, helpful and relaxed. However, sometimes a bit of pressure could help to learn quicker and set higher goals for yourself.
It was organised very well with many chances of getting to know other interns and people from the business. The whole organisational process was smooth and allowed to focus on work rather than anything else. Very well structured assessment which include mid-term project (presentation).
They were always happy to help and talk about their areas of work. However, understanding what people do and learning to do it yourself are different and I felt a lack of chances to work on core business activities and learn them myself.

There can be some good career pathways here. However, they might be a bit slow compared to other, especially banking companies.
The Culture
Yes everyone was friendly and we had many events together.
As it is London the costs are high. Especially social activities.
It's London so there are plenty of opportunities if prices are not a problem...
There were chances to do a charity fundraising campaign or be involved in sports activities.
