The Role
I enjoyed my internship very much. The people were very supportive. The works were challenging and exciting.
I felt very valued by my team. Despite my limited experience, they always took the time to listen to my opinions or questions.
I had the chance to learn a lot from very senior fund managers at M&G. It's increadible to listen to the fund managers in my team, some of whom were ranked as the best managers in Europe. My line manager had very deep knowledge about the latest theories of economics and finance, and as a result, I was able to improve my understanding substantially as I worked on my assignments. My second manager spent a lot of time guiding me and helping me adapt to the working culture here.
I am pretty busy on some days. However my internship was during the holiday season so there were some weeks that my managers were away. I learned more when they were around.
I was given the opportunity to prepare some of the latest researches. However, I did not directly participate in the decision making process, which was mostly due to the high standards required in the industry.
The skills I have developed helpede me gain so much more understnading about the industry. Hence, I know what I need to improve upon when I return to university,
The Company
The office was always very fun when the team was around. People were very supportive.
The overall internship set up was very well organised. We had a decent amount of events, such as trainings and social networking lunches.
The company invested a lot of time and effort into training us. There were weekly trainings and presentations. Besides, I received a lot of support from the team.

The Culture
The people at M&G were very nice. The interns got a long well together.
The cost of living was high in London. There were a lot of things happening.
I worked in the City, near Bank station. Most bars were busy after work but only during weekdays. The area was pretty empty during weekend.
There were quite a lot of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work. M&G organised many events for employees. In addition, the interns do have a lot of activities together.
