The Role
I really enjoyed the internship, extremley insightful and well structured.
My colleagues valued me a lot, I attended many meetings with them.
I was allocated a buddy throughout the internship. I could therby talk to my buddy when i needed help or wanted to ask a question which i may not feel comfotable asking the manager. Guidance was superb, i was appointed objectives and these were monitored throught the internship.
I was very busy in the morning and then busy in the evening. It was key to have a plan every morning as there was a lot of work to complete.
At first i was not given much responsibility because i had to learn the basic knowledge for the desk. But once grasped I was able add value and be given daily and weekly tasks which the team and the bank relied upon,
Excel skills were essential on the job, and this is a skill i will be able to apply to my studies once back at University.
The Company
Relaxed but very hard working.
Well structured and organised to perfection.
Since there were very few interns i could sense the investment of the firm. The colleagues in the bank were always willing to help when i had a question, and sometimes would go beyond what was asked of them. This demonsrates the extent to which the firm was willing to invest in me.
Very appealing, the bank asseses each intern and matches them with a role within the bank in which they think will be ideal. Hence employment of junior talent is an essential process for the firm.
The Culture
Yes, there were many social events for the interns as well networking events with recent graduates and experienced members of the firm.
Lived at home so no cost.
