The Role
It was an extremely enjoyable experience, the time literally flew by.
I felt highly valued by my colleagues. I was constantly commended on good work that I had completed and was given real responsibility which demonstrates how much they valued me and my contribution to the team.
I honestly could not have wished for a better line manager. He was constantly in communication with me and would give me some of his time at the drop of a hat. He was also genuinely a nice guy and made my internship experience so much smoother and worthwhile.
As i entered my team on the cusp of a very important season for them I was kept very busy with my commitments. however, I was given adequate time to network and attend sessions and talks. In addition to this, I was never obliged to stay in the office for ridiculous hours and senior leaders within the team would actively encourage me to take short breaks.
I was given a large amount of responsibility during my tenure. I was asked to take the lead on a number of projects and was often the main point of call for stakeholders from around the business when liaising with my team on projects.
Honestly this experience has enhanced my skill set immensely. Prior to joining the business I thought I was comfortable with using power-point and excel, however; my time here has bolstered my capabilities in those areas hugely. Furthermore, the main thing I will take away from the internship and into my academic life is the ability to work quickly and intensely whilst still creating high quality work. In addition to this, I have also developed an understanding of being able to create prioritise my time and tasks and use my time as efficiently as possible. I believe those skills will be invaluable in both my academic life and my wider personal/professional development.
The Company
It had an adequate blend of being a serious enough environment for you to concentrate and get your work done. However, it was not rigid so you felt comfortable engaging and chatting with fellow colleagues.
It was extremely well organised
We were given a broad technical training session just prior to joining up with the business. however, any addition training was to be triggered at your discretion using our internal intranet.

Working from home
I would honestly love to work here after this experience.
The Culture
I was fortunate enough to be part of an intern class in which we all got along really well, and often went for Friday drinks. Some of us would go for drinks more often then others though haha
Food and drink are slightly pricey depending on where you go. However, during the summer period they do have good deals on beers etc.
The nightlife was ok, however it was better suited to older people and not necessarily interns and it was also relatively expensive.
You were always encouraged to get involved in stuff outside the office.
