The Role
The internship was very informative with the opportunity to experience a lot of different types of work. The four weeks went by quickly and overall I enjoyed it a lot.
My opinion and thoughts were always taken into account in every project.
A lot of support received - I had a buddy which helped me out with any questions and a performance manager who made sure I got involved with everything I wanted to experience and they both ensured I was on track to receive my partner interview at the end of the 4 weeks.
Varied a lot, some days I had no work at all and others I was kept busy the whole day. Never had to stay later than normal working hours, and there was always opportunity to go looking for work.
Moderate amount.
Perfect way to see how an actuarial career in pensions will progress. Training and skills has put me ahead of other candidates and not so apprehensive as I now know what to expect.
The Company
Very postitive and friendly atmosphere. Hot desking means the opportunity to talk to someone new frequently.
Received training whilst working, had a performance manager and buddy.
Had a one day induction and then received 5-6 training sessions in the first couple of weeks at the office. Had the chance to attend training given to official employees also.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Working from home
Very appealing, graduate scheme is highly reputable with training and study days provided whilst chance to get involved in projects while working towards qualifications
The Culture
One other intern in my office in my department. Little interaction with interns in other locations.
