The Role
The job was really good, I really played an active part especially in helping with the Assesment Centres. However sometimes I found the admin duties a bit heavy
They really made me feel like a true member of the team- a real addition. They were always available to help me with queries, it was a totally different experience than what I was previously used to
I had weekly one on one meetings about how I was getting on and things that they wanted me to do. It was really beneficial as it allowed me to organise myself properly in terms of my workload
The work was cyclical, so there were times when I was rushed off my feet, but then there were more quieter times although it was still busy just not AS busy.
I looked after the student expense programme but in general I was left to my own devices, I wasn't micro managed and I was therefore responsible for my workload.
Time management!!! Office etiquette, e-mail writing skills
The Company
It was a lively atmosphere where I was able to be my real character. However when I first started I was initially reserved but as I got to know my colleagues I began to come into myself
The placement scheme is brilliant BUT my role was not defined at all, esp as they choose last minute to get an intern in. Alot of the things I learnt on the job I didn't have proper training
The training alot of it I learnt doing the job but the personal development definately, I learnt alot and they invested in my of which I'm really grateful for.
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Very- I've asked my manager if they would have me back and they told me that I'm deffo HP material. So I'm going to try and come on the grad scheme
The Culture
There was, but as I started really late (nov- others started in july) I kind of felt a bit left out, but I was able to make some really good friends working here
I commuted in from London so n/a
n/a
