The Role
I worked in the audit department at KPMG for 1 month. I had such a good experience working with a variety of clients and developing new skills and knowledge.
Really valued. Everyone was so supportive and if you ever needed something explaining again or unsure of something, people would take time to help you.
A lot of support. I was given support by the team I was working in but I also had a supervisor who checked everything was going well and how I was feeling so yes I had lot of support and also guidance on how to do well on a month placement with KPMG.
Busy. Every week I was at a different clients site so always something different going on. Some days I was busier than others but overall I was kept busy being given different tasks to do.
A lot of responsibility. From day 1 I was at clients sites working on clients audits and so was responsible for producing good quality work and speaking to the clients.
I developed my communication skills a lot as I was speaking to different clients and working with different teams. A lot of the work required excel and so I used excel a lot being shown new things on excel. Furthermore my team work skills were developed as for the four weeks I was always working in different teams.
The Company
I was only in the office 2 days out of the month due to being at clients sites. However everyone in the office were really friendly and so a very friendly, helpful atmosphere.
I felt my internship was really well organized. On the first day I got given a plan of which clients I would be at each day. When I got to the client site the team gave me a list of the tasks I could do and so they had thought about it and been organized.
Everyone I worked with invested time in me by explaining aspects I was unsure on and giving me advice. Also the first day we had a training day with other interns to inform us more about the company.

Company Parties/Events
Really appealing. I would love to work for this company as a graduate. A very helpful, friendly company with a lot of hard working people.
The Culture
Yes there was two events on when I was there. A BBQ and York races on a Friday so really good for meeting new people and getting to know colleagues.
I lived from home and drove so didn't really have a cost of living apart from petrol. Socializing was similar prices to any other place.
Really good as it was a city. I went out after work and it was very busy but very good.
Yes there is clubs. I didn't get involved as I was only there for a month but yes there is many opportunities available if you want them.
