The Role
It was a thoroughly enjoyable and insightful experience, featuring client exposure.
I certainly felt that I was able to be useful to the team and felt that many of the task I was given reflected a large degree of trust in me from the team
Although my placement coincided with the final delivery of a year long product and therefore my team was very busy, everyone in the team from managers to directors were very approachable and supportive.
Due to the timing of the placement the team was very busy and there was therefore lots of work to do however at times there was a balance to be struck between offering to help out busy colleagues and nagging them for work. Towards the end of the internship when I was given larger projects to do this became less of an issue as I always had background work I could be doing
Lots. I was responsible for preparing client ready deliverables, writing up a report of the project for a partnership award. Although I didn't feel excessively monitored most of the work I did involved a debrief and feedback with a manager before delivery
Although I received very little formal training. I picked up invaluable soft skills especially in the preparation of professional standard work, power points etc. and in project mangament
The Company
Very nice office to work in, everyone seemed happy and positive. Lots of gargets and fun things to do in the office in spare time , coffee machine was outstanding.
Not a huge amount of contact from HR post offer (November) until a few months before the placement (July) however once in the office everything ran very smoothly.
My impression was that personal training and development was more available for those on the longer 6 month and year long placements. Had I been less busy I think that this lack of opportunity would have been frustrating, however given that the internship was only 5 weeks long I believe the focus was more on insight and therefore any deficiencies in available training was understandable

The Culture
Really good, there were over 50 of us on the scheme and 15 consultants and we organised our own socials alongside company organised ones
Ruinous, although I could walk to work which was a big plus London is not a cheap place to live.
London nightlife is world class, there is always something going on
We generally had a scheme social at least once a week and usually socials organised buy our respective teams throughout the week
