The Role
I really enjoyed my work experience with JLL, it was a great opportunity to get to know the firm better and get property experience. Everyone at the company was extremely warm and welcoming and the four weeks flew by!
I felt hugely valued by my colleagues and everyone was always extremely appreciative of the work I completed. I was taken on site visits and got good exposure to all aspects of life in the role as a surveyor.
My supervisor was great, so warm and approachable so if I was having trouble with work I always felt I could go to them to get help. They were great in terms of career advice, very unbiased and gave me good advice!
Always had something to do which was great! Once I finished a job I was able to start a new one straight away which is ideal as I like to be kept busy!
I was given a lot of responsibility in terms of being given important work to complete for reports I was adding to. I was even given the opportunity to start a report from the beginning which was a really great opportunity.
I know that the work I have completed will be invaluable with hopefully going forward with the company, and the people I have meet are great contacts and a good support/advice network to have. Regardless of which company I go to for the graduate scheme the skills I have picked up will be incredibly useful.
The Company
Very open and friendly, good balance of work/talk! Everyone really helpful with any work I was doing.
Extremely organized- particularly in comparison to other internships I have done. great support and the presentations at that end were a really good chance to develop presenting skills. Even in the regional office I felt completely included to all the plans.
As mentioned above, the chance to present, and really develop skills was great. It felt like I was part of the company not just an intern!
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Really good- having learnt more about the company and the good structure for career development (both graduate and post APC) is huge and extremely appealing. It seems as though if you work hard, that is recognized and career progression can be quick.
The Culture
Yes, I was involved with sporting events, client lunches/meetings/events, work social events. One of the great parts of the role/career.
Not too expensive, although more expensive than the university prices I'm used to! Overall not bad.
Yeah really good bar /nightlife scene. Something for everyone.
As I said above, huge chance to get involved with loads of different activities- such as playing softball against other property firms in the area!
