The Role
I was always busy and was given tasks that actually added value to the company, It has been a brilliant experience where I have learnt so much about auditing and accountancy in only 6 weeks
My colleagues gave me tasks to complete that allowed me to take responsibility for my work.
We are given a buddy for the duration of the internship and a counselling manager to speak to regularly with any queries. They are very helpful and help you to fit in as quickly as possible.
There was always tasks to complete and you are always busy - If you finish a task there is always more to do so you aren't waiting around.
Much more responsibility that I would have expected. I was given my own sections of the audit file to complete and so took responsibility for these areas.
The work I completed at BDO taught me about what it takes to work in a professional environment and is very relevant to an accountancy degree.
The Company
Very friendly. The office isn't very big so it doesn't take long to get to know people
I was booked on to audits and had office work ready when I arrived at the office. The team seemed well equip to handle a new intern and the training week was very well organised too
The took us for a training week at the start and a few days away at the end. They really take the time to make sure everyone feels they are getting the most out of this opportunity
Hopefully very likely. There is a clear route of progression through the compnay
The Culture
Yes, the interns all seemed to get along well
Quite expensive, but a very nice area
Above average
