The Role
The internship experience as a whole was fantastic. There was a variety of tasks assigned to me during my time with my office. The initial induction in Birmingham was very enjoyable and the time in London at the end of the internship was great to meet up with the people I met originally.
BDO's culture is incredibly family orientated and everyone is always available to help you as well as relying on the work you produce.
My appraisal manager was incredibly supportive throughout the internship. The seniors on the job were also very friendly and helpful.
There was almost a perfect balance when it came to being busy. There were a couple of times where I had a bit of free time as my client wasn't ready but I was able to find other work to do.
I would say you are treated the same as a first year graduate. So you are given a healthy level of responsibility for your level. You are able to take on more responsibility if you wish.
The skills developed are incredibly useful for both future employment and also completing the final year of university.
The Company
Fantastic. The Manchester office was incredibly social and I felt at home as soon as I arrived.
Very well organised.
