The Role
It was enjoyable. The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. There was a very active social scene too.
I felt that I was able to build relationships with them based on the quality of work I did for them, and they valued this.
I felt like I could ask anyone in the office for help, even going to a director with a small question was acceptable.
I had a high workload, but deadlines were clear and manageable.
I felt I was given a lot of responsibility, especially considering my lack of knowledge at the beginning.
I think that this experience will be invaluable in my Accounting and Finance degree, especially in the tax module.
The Company
Very positive, lots of banter and football chat, but also a very driven mentality.
Well organised within my office and in the training week in Birmingham, although the London meet up at the end could have been planned better.
I had a week in Birmingham to learn the ropes before going into the Leeds office.
Company Parties/Events
The majority of interns go on to work for BDO, and after my interview with them, I feel positive about my chances of joining them.
The Culture
A very good social scene, this was one of my favourite things about the internship. The other interns went out for socials in the meet ups, and in Leeds, people often have socials too.
Low because I am a student in Leeds already, so was able to stay in that house.
Very good, Leeds is great for nightlife.
Yes, a football tournament in Cardiff was the highlight.
