The Role
Working for BDO was really enjoyable
Everyone in our department was supportive and friendly, and were always looking out for opportunities for us to get involved in. We we're given lots of interesting work and our colleagues appeared to value our contributions.
Our managers/supervisors were great, they we're really supportive and made sure we were comfortable in what we were doing. We regularly had catch ups to see how we were getting on.
Some days work was a little quiet, however this was due to it being summer holidays. A lot of the work we were given was business development/bid work as there weren't as many projects on the go as at other points in the year. However, despite this we were kept busy and got the opportunity to try out different things.
We were given a lot of responsibility and autonomy over our work, which was great .
My degree is very relevant to the placement. The training I received in excel and skills developed in consulting will be valuable in my studies and when I eventually go on to work.
The Company
The office was really good fun, very social.
Work placement was very well organised.
They invested a lot into making sure we got the most out of our 6 weeks. This included experiencing different projects, sectors and working with different people.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
At the end of the internship you have a partner interview, and a decision is made whether you get a place on the grad scheme. It is very likely that if you do well, you'll get a place
The Culture
Social side was great, the intern induction was a really fun week and we had lots things going on in our department
I live in London anyway, its quite expensive but worth it
Nightlife was good, particularly on the induction week. A lot of people go out for drinks after work on Friday.
BDO had a football tournament in Cardiff
