The Role
Really fun 6 weeks. Friendly, sociable team. Interesting work. Everyone in the office was always happy to help out.
The whole team made a real effort to include me, invited to various social events throughout the 6 weeks.
I was assigned a counselling manager and a buddy at the start of the internship, both of whom I could go to with any questions I had throughout the internship.
I was always given work when I needed it.
Good level of responsibility, carrying out important work. It was all checked after I did it.
They wont necessarily help me in my degree but will be invaluable once I graduate and start working.
The Company
Everyone works hard but there is a relaxed atmosphere in the office.
We had a week training in Birmingham with all of the interns from up and down the country before the internship. I was given a 'buddy' and a counselling manager who looked after me throughout the internship.
Week training in Birmingham prior to the internship.
Subsidised Canteen
I had an interview at the end of the placement and am waiting to here back. They say 85% of interns return as graduates.
The Culture
Went for drinks after work regularly with our team, and had 3 socials during the 5 weeks we were in the office. The interns also met up a few times during the internship and would meet for lunch most days.
Expensive in London, but I was living at home which made it ok.
Good nightlife but expensive if you're not used to London prices.
There was a football tournament in Cardiff for BDO Employees whilst we were there. I did notgo to this but a few interns did and it was good fun apparently.
