  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed it much more than I expected to.

  • I feel very valued by all my collegues. I was given much more responsibility and respect than I had expected.

  • I was given lots of support by my line manager in the beginning but less as I progressed

  • Some days I was quite busy but some days I was much less busy

  • Lots of responsibility - gave presentations to people high up in the company and travelled on my own to given presentations of my research to the business units.

  • Presentation experience will definitely help me in the future in both my degree and beyond

  • Very nice and friendly atmosphere

  • Very well managed

  • They invested a lot in presentation activities and learning visits

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes very good - we all lived together at the royal Holloway and there were lots of social activities

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living costs much reduced by having accommodation provided, social activities on the weekends could be quite expensive but local pubs were relatively well priced.

  • Pretty poor but funny in a large group

  • The charity challenge provided opportunities to get involved in the community with your peers
