The Role
Grant Thornton is a great place to work with great people, the firm put lots of time into training and development and I was given the opportunity to attend various workshops and training sessions which were very useful.
You are treated just like a graduate and as such colleagues treat you the same as them, you are a key part of the team.
You have a 6 monthly performance review half way through the year as well as final one at the end of the year.
This varied depending on the period but generally I always had things to do, however this was never overwhelming there were a few late nights but this is to be expected.
The level of responsibility varied on the cases I worked on; on some cases I was responsible for running the case day to day whereas on others my role was rather less significant,
The skills I have learnt will be applicable at nearly all graduate level office jobs and therefore are very valuable.
The Company
Its a busy office and a lot of work needs to get done there are some jokes and everyones happy to talk and chat and there are a few early finishes around christmas but otherwise its generally busy working.
There are 3 placement workshops held in the company's training facility at Bradenham Manor these workshops are not related to your day to day work but provide a good opportunity to meet and network with the other placements.
Loads of optional workshops and courses to go on as well as lunch and learn sessions.

The Culture
There were only 3 other placements in the building however you did have a chance to meet other placements at the workshops mentioned above.
I lived at home and commuted into London, this was very cheap but by doing this you definitely do miss out on the social side of work a bit!
Office in the middle of the city so bars on every corner!
