The Role
The role was very diverse so I was involved in many different areas of the businesswhich kept it interesting!
I got on very well with my team and others in the office. Everyone is willing to help if needed.
I was given training by each memeber of the team and my manager is always on hand to help me if i need it.
We have busy times and quiet times but if there is not a project you can be working on, there is always some analysis that could be done or you can help out on other accounts/documents/projects.
I have been given a vast amount of responsibility from running projects myself to taking charge of a document type.
I think this will aid me with my studies as I have learnt a lot about information technology and how the business runs as a whole and within the department.
The Company
Very welcoming and confortable. Always people around to chat to and it is a very relaxed atmosphere to working.
The assessment centre was run exceptionally well and was a very enjoyable day. When I arrived on my first day, everything was available so i could log striaght onto a computer and start my training.
there are online courses which you can access at any time in order to further your own development.
A few students have come back after thier placement and seem very happy with this choice.
The Culture
I get on very well with the other students in my office (although there is only 4 of us based in Slough), we regularly see each other outside of work and I live with one of them.
Rent is higher here than at university mainly due to being closer to London. Pub prices seem to be quite similar to at university (when it's not a student night).
Not very much night life. Some events for employees have been held in Windsor and Maidenhead. We have organised a few ourselves too.
The office takes part in a triathlon in Septmeber which is suppoerted by the majority of the office. There are not many more social activities except the Christmas party.
