The Role
A really varied job in an interesting workplace.
There is a lot of respect for placement students and you really are one of the team.
You are given plenty of support but also lots of responsibility.
It varied depending on the time of year, sometimes not enough time in the day and other times not enough things to do to fill the day.
It really is a 'proper job' and you are held accountable.
It put everything in to context and I have learnt so much that will be useful in future jobs.
The Company
Brilliant office, everyone smart desks and everyone is really friendly.
I joined just after HR restructured so the role wasn't brilliantly defined but it is now and it meant I got to shape it.
I got to attend lots of training and people are always happy to give you their time and advice.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
There is no HR graduate scheme but there is the opportunity to come back in to an entry level role (probably the HR hub) but this doesn't appeal to me as a first choice of graduate job because I would want something with rotations.
The Culture
There are about 300 placement students across the UK so no shortage of social events.
Of course London is quite expensive but Brentford isn't too bad. Going out is expensive though.
Lots of good bars nearby in Richmond, Chiswick, etc, but a bit of a trek for a proper night out.
There is plenty to do both in and out of work.
