The Role
To begin with its very overwellming but this is to be expected. Everyone was incredibly friendly and the work went from challenging to repetitive however, there was no shortage of other projects to get involved in.
Colleagues treated you like a professional but are still aware you are new to business - they can be quite laid back towards your mistakes.
At every step of the way. This included development in interpersonal skills and introducing the new business processes.
It varied quite heavily as my job was query based. Sometimes i had to work late and other times i could be clock watching. More often than not I was busy.
As time went one and trust built up within the team more responsibility was given and less "checking for mistake"s was done.
Analytical and non-tangible skills where developed. Due to nature of my job there were little technical subject specific skill learnt. Except for IT
The Company
Atmosphere could be quiet and whilst there was some chat it never really lasted very long.
Placement assessment day was ran very well and all admin stuff was well organised making it easy to start. A lot of the previous placement students help by setting up facebook group and advising where to live etc
There was always an option to take online courses. Externally there was little or no options available.
Above 25 days holiday
Despite the economic environment i have been given a good manager review and current students are encouraged and updated about grad jobs within Xerox
The Culture
There was a lot of students working for the company. We all lived together. We all (even on a week night) went out for the occasional drink or something recreational
Near London was never going to be cheap. aveage £3 a pint about £70 a night including entry
London was amazing. Uxbridge where I lived wasn't great. Due to there being lots of students most nights were good banter anyway.
Lots of sports clubs around.
