The Role
I enjoyed my internship very much. Working in Corporate Client Solutions, I have learned far more than I expected, with colleagues happy to explain new concepts and ideas to me.
I did feel valued by my colleagues. From the first day, we were able to work on interesting deals, with colleagues happy to explain the nature and context of transactions
Despite often being very busy, management and supervisors were happy to give me support and guidance, with mid-internship reviews scheduled to offer me further guidance
I have been kept busy on a daily bassis. This has enabled me to learn how to effectively prioritise at a much greater rate
I was given fairly significant levels of responsiblity (within reason). During the first few weeks, the internship was focused more upon learning about how to operate the various tools used by the team most effectively. However, after this, team members were happy to give me greater levels of responsibility.
I believe the skills I have learned will help me in my further studies. I have learnt to prioritise tasks more effectively and have got to grips with using excel more effectively

The prospect of future employment with UBS are appealing for me
The Culture
Yes, the training week that we had proved to be a great opportunity to socialise, and get to know, fellow interns
The cost of living wasn't too bad, given that UBS subsidised part of it
Good, despite the fact that paying £20 for entry seemed rather steep
Yes, there was a communities day with a local school, which interns enjoyed getting involved with
