The Role
I really enjoyed my internship, largely due to the people i met on the internship. Although the work was really interesting, and i was given a lot of resposibility, the day to day office life wouldn't have been what it was without the people. There were always a lot of events to break up the day, although perhaps a little too many when it clashed with busy times with regards to work load!
I felt really valued by my colleagues. I was instantly treated like one of the team, being welcomed to team drinks and to go for lunch etc. Although i was always asking for help. my team were always patient. Similarly people i sat with and encountered on the internship were all really friendly and willing to have a chat if i had questions.
Very much so. I feel like i was exceedingly lucky with my manager in comparison to how it could of been had i got a different manager. My manager pushed me whilst still remaining supportive. Although he was regularly really busy, the project he gave me was so great that it was always easy to find something to do.
It depends. Had i come in to the internship with a knowledge of excel etc i could have been busy 90% of the day. I was a little held back by the fact i always had to ask for help, which slowed me up. However, by working on a large project there was always editing to do. or i could always spend an hour or so on my trading game.
Much more than expected. I was assigned a full project to myself, and my responsbility even stretched to attending Interim results for that company. This was one of the best things about the internship', i actually felt like i was doing valuable work.
I have a better understanding of accountancy now, which would help if i did a module in that, although currently i'm not planning to do so. Of course the skills i learnt will help in my future career, but i wouldn't say they are very applicable to my degree ( economics)
The Company
Really busy and friendly. Different teams have very different atmosphere's. I was sat opposite my team, but next to another so it was interesting and enjoyable to effectively sit in two very different team dynamics. I never felt awkward in the office, and no one was ever shouting or being intimidating . Absolutley no compliants; people were always ready for a chat in the coffee room!
I would say very well, on the whole, with a couple areas for improvment. For example, planning the presentation deadline 2 weeks before the end of the internship seemed very early as many of us had yet to actually complete our project. I do also think the number of events was sometimes excessive ( for example we had 3 womens events) , although most were very useful (the Research lecture series was amazing!)
A lot. People took time out of their very busy days to help me with anything, no matter how small. The opportunity to interact with other teams, clients and my team itself were all amazing.

I think reasonably good. I think that if they invest as much in their graduates as they do interns, it would be a great opportunity.
The Culture
Yes! This one of the biggest bonuses of the internship that was completley unexpected. We all went out together, and our research team of interns got to do a lot together as there were only 11 of us. This meant we could hang out together, or with the wider intern group. It was nice having other interns to share experiences with, and the atmosphere in the research interns was 100% collaborative not competitive.
Obviously expensive, its london! I also lived in my house from uni ( i'm at LSE), and other stayed at home and commuted in to make the cost of living less . However the number of free lunches and coffees we had meant expense on lunch was slightly less.
Really great. Broadgate circle is super busy on a thursday or friday night. Also shoreditch is only 5 mins away which is also amazing.
Between interns and your team definitley yes. There was also opportunities to help with charity work for example packing a box for a london school child.
