The Role
Good to work on a wide variety of projects with different teams.
Some staff valued my contributions more than others.
Given time to research projects and also some flexibility in working hours to suibmit university work.
There was always ongoing work that required attention.
Hosted visitors to site, was responsible for a motor testing project also dealt with external contractors on a regular basis.
Completed my dissertation while on placement with an industrial type project. General knowledge of the company improved greatly during my placement time.
The Company
Proffessional engineering office. Open plan and very busy with lots of work going on all around.
Not very good communication in the initial stages of the placement although once started it ran quite smoothly.
I was sent on several external courses giving recognised qualifications.
I have been offered a job.
The Culture
Not really much of a social scene. The work site is quite remote so everyone travels to work from the surrounding areas, covering approx 50 mile radius.
Edinburgh. Very good for nightlife.
Community help schemes. Charity events.
