The Role
Unfortunately the role has not enthused me to take it on as a career. However my colleagues and manager has made the overall experience enjoyable.
Obviously because of my inexperience I am not the most valued member of the team - however they have always cooperated in a friendly manner.
I have daily help from my mentor who knows a far lot more about my individual duties than my manager. She has always made the time to help me understand the wide variety of functions I need to perform. The only downside was the absence of official training meaning it took longer than I expected to be confident in my role.
There are some busy weeks and some more relaxed weeks. My role in heavily dependent on the number of emails to respond to but I have found this has been balanced throughout the course of the year.
This is difficult to answer because I was expecting my responsibilities to feel more important than they do, however because I am making hundreds of changes every day to our SAP database, I am responsible for them all and accountable if they've been done incorrectly.
I have gained some excel skills which should benefit, however working in HR will not benefit my final year studying Economics too much.
The Company
Lively and loud overall. The Employee Services director is very relaxed to let people work how they wish which creates a positive working environment.
It was a slow start and but this is mainly due to a large change up in the team I work in (new manager, people leaving/going on secondment).
I was entered into a LEAN 1b course which was 2 days and very insightful. I would have liked for there to have been more training opportunities but can't complain!
Healthcare/Dental
I would like to keep my options open and think returning to this current role is highly unlikely but I will be checking to see what their graduate roles offer.
The Culture
There's only one other placement student.
South East England prices - generally overpriced.
I lived in Crawley before my placement so I was fairly bored of our lack of nightlife before I'd started my placement.
There are a fair amount of social events to attend. I also played football after work on Monday's and had a Christmas do with them all.
