The Role
Enjoyable experience- was a very steep learning curve. Main downside is the hours (arriving at the office at 6:30 on average)
My work was praised so it did feel like I added value
Manager was very helpful, consistently answering my questions and guiding me
I was given a number of tasks to juggle at the same time
My main project was an industry overview which I took control of which is part of overall note and i will have contributed to that.
Have already graduated so not as relevant, but definitly will help me going forward in my investment banking career
The Company
Really friendly and happy- everyone happy to help or answer questions
Was very well organised- perhaps downside were too many "extra" events such as a number of women events which did exhibit diminishing marginal returns
Very high- both in terms of my work and technical skills, but also personal development, particularly confidence
There is a lot of re-shuffling going on given new management, but hopefully this provides potential for incoming analysts
The Culture
Yes- a number of social events, as well as going out for drinks with the teams
Fairly expensive, but this is just to be expected working in london
It's London...
Not really, but it was a hands on, intensive placement with a main focus on work development
