The Role
I had the chance to work with clients for my first time and colleagues were really helpful. Everyone here was really nice!
colleagues were extremely helpful and they all made sure that I understand what my tasks were at all times. I felt I was contributing to the team and my work really helped.
Everyone is ready to help you with any questions you got! They said when they first started they got loads of questions as well, so just ask!
I was not extremely busy as I interned during the summer which is not the peak season. But I still got work to finish so I am learning quite a lot everyday!
I was given quite a few tests to finish independently after the guidance of my colleagues. I have to find evidence and approach the client myself if I got any related questions.
I have learned quite a lot during my internship, especially communication skills! I had to approach the client on the first day of work, which enhanced my communication skills comprehensively which I am sure this is a skill for life.
The Company
The office is very nice. It was newly built with an open office so you will be able to sit with new people everyday. But I was outset the clients for most of the times. Some clients' office are nice but it depends.
The internship was really structured and offers are usually sent out quite early so you don't have to panic when the summer is approaching. We had an induction on our first day and had the chance to meet other interns in nearby offices. We were all assigned to a performance manager which you can be in contact anytime if you have any questions. And the intern ended with a Partner Interview, which is the final stage to secure a graduate role! You can be fast tracked to a Partner Interview if you performed well during your placement.
New joiners have access to their e-learning platform which they called KPMG business school. We had the chance to finish quite a few introductory courses on our first day in the office.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Interns will be fast tracked to the Partner Interview of a Graduate Trainee if you performed well during your placement. This means you will know if you secured a graduate role with KPMG when you finish you internship. I passed the Partner Interview and got an offer on my last day of work.
The Culture
Everyone is nice! Even if placement students are not working together most of the times, we got the chance to meet each other on our first day and during departmental meeting. It was often nice to catch up with them in the office!
I worked in Manchester, things are affordable and not really expensive comparing with London. They are quite a few night clubs in the city centre, I am sure everyone will enjoy!
Night clubs in the city centre which is not far away from the office and there are plenty different clubs for you to choose.
Yes! Socials are organised on a regular basis in the office, drinks and food are provided! They also have different clubs and classes for you to join, like fitness class and sports clubs! Family fun days are also something to participate!
