The Role
Really welcoming culture, lots of things to do both within my job and outside of my job, and I feel like I learnt a lot.
People were always happy to stop what they were doing and explain things to me and to meet with me.
There was the right balance between giving me guidelines of what I should be doing and how, and letting me figure things out for myself. If I was ever unsure about what to do, there was always at least two or three people I could ask for assistance.
If I ever thought I was running out of things to do, I could always find more work somewhere, so that was never a problem.
There were times when I was asked to represent Barclays at external events when no one else could make it, which was satisfying because it meant I was trusted to do a good job.
It has given me a very good overview of some very interesting areas of finance, and a good overview of how large corporations work.
The Company
Very open, friendly, and relaxed (although that is not to say that people did not work!).
There were a huge amount of events to attend, so the overall scheme ran smoothly. My team in particular had put a lot of thought regarding the kind of work they wanted me to do, so I think my particular scheme also ran smoothly.
I had some personal development points that I wanted to improve, and my co-line manager was very efficient in helping me do this.

Working from home
For those who want to stay I think it is fairly certain that they will be able to.
The Culture
I think that the interns as a group got on fairly well.
It is in London so prices tend to be fairly high.
Again, it was in London, so there is no reason to be bored.
I worked on a charity scheme, attended entrepreneurial events, and went out socially with my team on several occasions, so there was lots to be doing outside of work.
