The Role
I enjoyed my internship as it gave me valuable soft skills but also gave me a better understanding on the firm as well as all the product they offer. The environment was great and people were very friendly.
We had a buddy and a manager which we regularly met up with. Met up with our manager once a week and a buddy regularly as they were always happy to help. People who sat around you were also happy to help
I wasn't left with nothing to do but as I joined in the quieter season for only a month, you have to ask different people to get more work as they sometimes didn't need any help.
Due to the short time span, it was difficult to be responsible for a project. However, I got to join meetings with clients and some of the work I did went to client meetings
We received a lot of training and help. Got to do presentations in front of Partners and had info sessions with different teams which increased my understanding immensely. We also used specific tools which will help in the future such as Market Research and Transaction tools.
The Company
The general atmosphere was good. Teams were split up but there is a hot desk situation so you can sit with different people everyday which meant you got to know more people. Everyone was friendly in the Restructuring Department
The induction day was well organised and useful although I had travel from Manchester to London and back in a day. We found out about our buddy then. When I got there, work came depending on what was available, there was no schedule although our buddy and manager were only recently told we were their responsibility. However, using our feedback, they are actively improving this for next year.
We had a chance to present in front of two Partners who gave great feedback. I also went to training sessions on TPS. Whatever work we did, people would always tell us the wider picture and its importance.

Very appealing, to get my Graduate offer, I did an interview and presentation. As we already had some contact with the interviewer, there was less pressure and nerves. People had great tips on doing well too. They pay for your ACA qualification and are reasonable in your study time
The Culture
Yes, whist there I attended a summer social which was a prized treasure hunt and open bar and food at the end. The graduates tend to eat together at lunch too
It is average. I stayed with my Auntie so do not know about cost of living.
I enjoyed the nightlife, there are loads of clubs and bars to go to in different areas.
You could do secondments and they also have a few clubs to join. They are also welcoming for you to start a new club
