The Role
A lot of support was provided by fellow employees and becoming a part of a team helped enhance my learning. I enjoy it most of the time.
Often I became a source of information for a lot of people and because I dealt with some many areas, you get some people that value you more than others. Some people can be plain ignorant though.
My supervisor helped me gain the knowledge to be able to train other new starters and me help him take some of the pressure of the work. However, i didn't really talk much to my Manager as he was always very busy.
Varied from day to day, at the beggining i was praying to start taking on more work and then further down the line i was starting to wonder why, the pressure can be intense.
I had the responisbility to train new staff, write work instructions and cover for a retiree, so a lot.
I hope it makes me more organised.... I am also hoping for my foot in the door to an engineering company know for its excellence.
The Company
Jokes all around, but when work had to be done we got on with it.
The organisation was poor as i was covering for alot of things and i'm still hazy on their recruitment process after the placement year. Think i'm going to have to do a lot of badgering.
Mandatory training sessions every month pretty much and as much training as you could sign up to, plus hours throughout the year for voluntary work. What more can you ask for?
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I'm hoping they want me back but i've had a decent year even if they don't!
The Culture
Brilliant nights out and good shopping.
Sometimes, but usually department organised.
