The Role
I enjoyed my internship a lot as along with my day to day work there were so many extra curricular activities which made us more pro-active in the 10 weeks.
Well, the team I worked with was brilliant over - whelming and really warm as they welcomed me with open arms to the team and gave me the right guidance to work in the team and to handle projects and do the day to day work.
In the beginning , my manager gave me complete support and full guidance so that I could embrace my internship very well, and recommended me few training sessions for the projects which improved my it skills and moved from basic to intermediate, half way through the internship he gave me complete responsibilities to work on my project alone but whenever I would need help he would always provide me with it.
On a normal day the shift would be for 8 hours but they were few days just before the deadlines where your stakeholders would expect your results a day in advance, those days I would work for more than 8 hours so it would go up to 11 sometimes.
I was given a lot of responsibilities as the management team were observing if I could handle those responsibilities with great honor and hence I took pride in doing my work properly as I wanted to impress my manager with my skills go to them whenever I needed help but try and produce the right work what they expect.
Well, the skills I developed in my internship would definitely help in my career ahead and in my life not so much in my degree as they firm I worked in is completely different from the degree I am learning but these skills are generic and transferrable as well.
The Company
the general atmosphere in my office would be warm, friendly, people on the phone talking to clients or with people in their team across the globe. Beautiful view from my desk, and working next to your manager makes you feel quiet responsible.
I think the credit for the overall internship set up goes to the HR Recruiting Team in Bournemouth as they made a brilliant timetable for our 10 week internship where we were given a flavor of both work & our usual day to day lives, which I would say made the internship so good and efficient.
The company has invested a lot, I am not sure on the number but definitely a lot as they made the program so exciting internally as well as externally, and also provided us with a good salary as well as relocation money.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
they are quiet a lot and good which helps us get back to the organization in future.
The Culture
There were plenty of BBQ's and social events for meals, as well as relaxing in the beach as our placement was in Bournemouth. Plenty of water sport festivals as well as Air show festival took place in this location which was good as an intern to move to this location for an internship/.
Well the cost of living and socializing, would not be a lot in the area I worked in but I could give a rough figure of 100 pounds for 2 -3 weeks.
The nightlife was brilliant! completely enjoyed it especially on Fridays after a tiring week at work.
Yes, definitely I would recommend Bournemouth as a location to anyone and everyone if they like the beach and having a relaxed and laid back life along with work being more efficient and fast.
