The Role
The time I spent was great. I was able to learn new stuff about the financial markets and about software development. I was working on projects that actually proved to be useful for my colleagues, so I actually saw my work in action.
My colleagues were great. They considered me as a full part of the team. They always answered my questions, we were talking on various topics. Since the UK is not my home country, they suggested nice places that I can visit, etc.
My manager was quite busy, but I was never left on my own. He answered all my questions no matter how stupid they might be. The thing that I valued most about him is that he is able to explain the matter in a way that can be easy pick (like a teacher.)
I was busy enough. No body expected miracles from me and I was given enough work so I can handle it within the working hours, without having to stay late.
I was given full responsibility regarding the project that I was working on.
I strengthen my software development skills, which will definitely be useful in my studies.
The Company
All the people in the office were quite friendly and easy-going. They seemed to be quite happy by the fact that they work there. We were going for drinks after work quite often which I found really cool because this is a chance to actually get to know the people you are working with.
The internship was quite well organized. We had buddies - former interns, now graduates, that helped us to integrate better in the "environment." We also had support from HR regarding the administrative stuff.
From day one my manager was trying to help me find suitable trainings form the online platforms that the Company uses so I can learn the essential stuff related to my work and to also to make full use of my time there.

The Culture
Yes, absolutely. We were hanging out with other interns all the time. We were going out for lunch, we did drinks after work, night out, we went for a paintball. I can say that I definitely made good friend during my time in the Company.
I worked in Glasgow which is not very expensive. In total, I spent about GBP 320 per month for accommodation and about GBP 300 per month for food.
Glasgow has a lot of clubs, pubs, restaurants, and bars so there are plenty of opportunities for nightlife. I had great time around the bars with either my colleagues or with the other interns.
Glasgow is a relatively big city, so there were different opportunities for sports - gyms, swimming pools.
