The Role
The internship was extremely enjoyable and I managed to do a huge variety of work during the 4 weeks. I really had a fantastic time and I got to learn so much in a short space of time and got a real insight into the firm and accountancy.
The colleagues were brilliant and extremely friendly and helpful. They made me feel part of the firm during the whole 4 weeks. They were willing to explain concepts in various ways and go the extra mile and take out time to go through and discuss issues with me. They also ensured I was involved in various activities occurring during my time there and made sure I had the opportunity to undertake a range of work to get the best experience.
I was extremely impressed with the support given during the internship as I would regularly have my supervisors arranging sessions to talk with me to discuss my progress and how I'm finding my time there. In addition I would get phone calls and emails from managers again making sure that I'm coping well and if I needed any assistance.
During the first 2 weeks I had be given several different pieces of work, however towards the final 2 weeks it was quieter and I had less work in comparison and it tended to become more repetitive. Nevertheless all the staff tried to give me as much work as possible and tried to get me the best experience by giving me a variety of tasks to accomplish.
I had been given several different tasks, however they all had to be checked and verified by my supervisors and managers. I felt that I was given more responsibility as time went on as I was more familiar with the systems and the nature of the work and therefore needed much less guidance compared to when I first started.
I feel I have developed extremely useful skills that will assist me greatly in my degree studies and in the future, both hard and soft skills.
The Company
The atmosphere was very good as all the staff were so friendly and everyone got along well with each other. It was a warm environment and overall I got a good vibe from the place as well as from the staff working there.
I thought the internship was very well organised as we had a few days of training and then started in the office. In addition in terms of equipment, we were provided with laptops and ID cards during training so when starting in the actual office, there wasn't much time wasted in setting up and getting started.
The company spent a good amount of time in training as we had 3 days before starting in the office of training in the field with proper teaching sessions which were very useful. In addition during the internship we had to accomplish training on various important aspects such as health and safety, ethics and so on.

Future employment prospects are extremely appealing within the organisation and if you perform well doing your internship chances for a job with them in the future are high.
The Culture
During training we got to meet and speak with the other interns which was a great opportunity to know others in the same situation as you. In addition I got the chance to meet the other interns at my office from other departments.
There are several opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work. The firm has several clubs and societies which you can get involved in. In addition there are lots of charity and CSR activities which you can be part of.
