The Role
The internship provided me with new challenges every day: from having to prioritize different tasks for different projects, to getting people you barely know to complete tasks for your own project.
My colleagues always took time to talk to me, to explain their daily jobs, to give career advice, and to ensure I was understanding my job. Everyone is always happy to have a chat whenever you see them around.
My manager always asked how I was doing, whether I needed any help from him or other people, and would ensure I got the help I needed quickly. I also have a buddy, a mentor and another analyst in my team for me to go and ask anything I need.
Quite busy but I also have extra time to dedicate to networking. When I joined, the graduate analyst in my team was away so for two weeks I took on some of his tasks, together with being given my own projects and having to adapt quickly to the new company and work environment.
As soon as I arrived, I was given the responsibility of completing team reports that were scrutinized and used by senior management to analyze the team performance. I was doing valuable work right from the start.
This internship taught me very valuable skills, especially the importance of delegating tasks, of trusting the people you delegate these tasks to, and ensuring they are on track so that the project is completed within the deadline.
The Company
All team members are always ready to have a chat with me when they are not too busy. People never turn down a good laugh, and we even had a 'scientific experiment' (more like a bet) that involved eating lots of donuts at the desk. Really fun!
Human Resources have been extremely organized in terms of scheduling lots of training sessions, breakfasts with MDs, senior speaker events, a community/charity event, and the famous JPMorgan Corporate Challenge.
I had two days of pre-training (Accounting boot camp), a whole week of training, continuous teach-ins, and online training from our business school always available. The company really invests in new talent.

Company Parties/Events
In my division there is a place for each intern, which means that if we perform to the company's high standards, everyone could theoretically get a full time job offer. It is up to us to perform to the best of our abilities.
The Culture
Plenty of places to have a drink after work, although not many clubs or places to go to afterwards. One would just go into Central London.
