The Role
This was a very challenging experience but I feel I have gained a lot out of it and enjoyed the nature of the work. You also gain a significant amount of exposure in your chosen division.
My team was awesome- really good fun and also when you provided the work on time and done to a reasonable level of accuracy, your contribution was also valued.
My manager always showed concern to my job by asking about my progress frequently. If I needed help he would introduce me to the right people to solve my problem. Overall it was really good but it is also important to reach out for help and guidance if needed.
I was pretty busy throughtout the day but I would have chance to learn and practice the skills during a working day with skills sessions etc provided. If you work efficiently there's is adequate time to catch up with your colleagues and friends at work.
A considerable amount, in my division we had to write up a large peice of work that a director would survey and make adequate changes. In addition they really value your contribution and won't spoon-feed you answers but challenge you andvalue your opinoin.
My credit analysis and financial analysis skills have improved. Also, I improved my communication skills by communicating with my colleagues to solve my problem. My team working skills had been enhanced when working with a team to achieve a goal.
The Company
The office is awesome. I had my own desk to conduct my work comfortably and talk to my colleagues discussing both work ideas and social events. Overall the working conditions really ennergising and I had fun working there!
The internship was very well organised by HR. Throughout the internship, there were many social events to get to know your other interns and also events within your team to get to know your general work people outside of the office.
The firm invest a huge amount in you. Not only is the internship decently paid but I managed to access online training course for free. The company also put on free courses conducted by professional people to improve its employees' soft skills.

If you do well in your work, perform a good presentation, and really get on with your colleagues you should have a good chance based on past results. However with company restructuring its hard to tell what's going to happen.
The Culture
There were a lot of social events during my internship. I really emjoyed playing football with my fellow interns and also having the chance to represent my company participating in Touch Rugby event to compete against teams from other companies.
I managed to cover all of my living costs and I had chance to socialise with other interns after working hours. The wage covered most expenses comfortably. I was also taken out by my team for dinner and drinks as well.
The night life in the area is really good. There are a lot of pubs nearby even if the prices may be a bit high. I had chance to chill with other interns in some pubs frequently through both sports and social events, and go out to more late night things in shoreditch.
There were a significant amount of opportunities. I always had chance to participate in some volunteering works, take part in interbank events such as a small mini inter-company marathon, touch rugby and also doing doing gym work.
