The Role
My placement at Citroën keeps me very busy. occasionally it can be stressful but I have been given such a high level of responsibility and genuinely feel like I contribute daily to the running of the Citroën Marketing Dept.
I feel like my work here is neccisary and like it really makes a difference to the everyday running of the Citroën UK Marketing team.
They were all incredibly patient and welcoming. They are always available to help out whenever I need but are also
VERY busy! I am occasionally run off my feet and sometimes working late is neccissary but thats how I love it! The job is more one that you can work as hard as you want. There is the basic amount that your expected to do but the department is such that there is always other things that you can get involved in. I have done some really interesting projects because I have decided to do more than was originally expected.
Some of the things I have been asked to do has been amazing. I have been feeding back my own opinions and thoughts into the Marketing and I am often actively being asked for my opinions. I honestly feel like people trust my judgement and I am trusted to look after the management of marketing finances.
I now know that marketing is where I want to be. Product Design is my degree but I have learnt an incredible amount that I can guarentee would never have been learnt from a book even if I had been doing a marketing degree. It has helped me learn more about myself and I have learnt about proffesionalism.
The Company
Everyone is lovely. I have made a huge amount of friends this year some of which I will keep with me forever. We are often going out together into Windsor or for a drink at lunchtime and Citroën UK put on some amazing social events too! Do NOT miss out on driving days, The Christmas Party, Motorbike trips (you can be a pillion if you can't drive one) as well an enourmous amount of running, football and boxcercise. Everyone is very chatty and friendly and I am going to miss them all SO much. The office is very relaxed atmosphere, obviously everyone is proffesional and hard working but people are always stopping for a chat and and everyone is so friendly.
The training you receieve is priceless and a lot of fun. The year is set up well and part of the year is organising pre-inductions for the new industrial placement students.
They have put a lot of time and money into training me. From the general personal training we receieve due to being on placement, to the one on one training about the programs I have been using. PSA also gave me £300 towards training of my choice wich i spent on French lessons here at CUK.

PSA do do graduate jobs and I would love to be able to do this however, this job could be in various departments which will be decided later in the year. I genuinely would love a job here if it was in a department which was of interest to me.
The Culture
We are often doing social events, from sports and social, to a night out in Wndsor. Everyone is very friendly and there is a large young crowd of IP's, trainees and french placement students. There are an enourmous number of events going on whether organised by the sports and social club or by individuals. i would just advise to make the most of it when you can!
I live with family so it is not very expensive. I know that the area is not overly expensive and socialising can be a fairly cheap evening out. I have found hwoever that earning more money means you definately do spend more!
There is none in Slough however, in Windsor there is various places to go to for a good night out. The arches, Liquid or lots of nice bars and pubs.
The sports and social club is brilliant there is often things going on. From driving experiences to parties and sports.
