The Role
I enjoyed the majority. The people were lovely and friendly, but often there was either too much or too little work. provided a solid deep dive into 'life in markets'
second rotation seems to value me, yet on the trading floor felt more like an annoyance
1 st rotation provided little guidance (trading), but 2nd (structuring) provided much support and guidance - therefore learnt much more
1 st rotation very lax. 2nd rotation v. busy - working for at least 12-13 hrs a day with little break
no responsibility on trading floor - as expected. structuring gave a lot of responsibility
not sure if it will help me in my degree. but will certainly aid future job. understanding the work place is the most important skill
The Company
good - people were hard working by friendly and entertaining
relatively, needed a little tweaking - maybe the desk choices should be carried out in the first week rather than months before the internship
a relatively large amount. for the value added, i feel i gained the most out of the two parties. talks were given by extremely senior employees, and often directors or MDs would approach you (or accept) for a coffee and chat
good - expanding and looking to balance out triangle - therefore need more analysts
The Culture
really good - great group of interns. often went for drinks on thurs/fri
its london - its expensive...
bars are good - need to travel a little further for clubs
not really - often you were either working, sleeping or drinking with team/interns
