About You
The two day programme was well structured and encompassed engaging information sessions and challenging business activites.
KPMG gave the impression that any of the attendees could become valuable employees for them in the future and that they also wanted us to.
Thorough presentations were given; explaining the inner workings of each service line and what working in them would entail, but during the competitive business challenge slightly less support was obviously given simply to test our abilities.
The information has provided me with a lot more knowledge for when the time comes for me to choose my preferred service line and the skills used were transferable to all academic work (teamwork, presentation skills, etc.) and life.
The Company
For it being the first year that Kpmg had run the two day programme, it was well structured and balanced with the information and activity sessions.
Every attendee was excited and enthusiastic to be on the programme and see inside one of the biggest professional services business; being a part of it, even for two days.
Having earned our way onto the insight programme through online tests and an assessment centre, all the successful attendees were given the opportunity to be fast tracked to a phone interview for a summer vacation programme.
Having a full day dedicated to information on the firm and its services provided a great image of what it would be like to work for KPMG; especially with employees from all different sectors telling us their personal Kpmg journeys and answering any questions we had.
From the offset Kpmg made it extremely clear that they were all about their employees; the people who make Kpmg one of the big 4. They emphasised that they appreciate and value the differences in people, especially among their employees.
Every service they provide was included and explained in detail to us; also allowing for any questions after each presentation and at any point throughout the days.
Everything Else
Reimbursement of expenses was offered, but I did not claim any.
At the end of the first day Kpmg put on drinks for the attendees and their current employees, allowing for us to make connections and hear different stories. We could also ask questions to any of the people present.
All the employees were extremely friendly and willing to chat about their experiences and what it was like to work at Kpmg.
The work groups/societies that exist in Kpmg and we could join if we one day work there were shared with us, and the activites that they organise.
The two day insight programme was a very valuable and enjoyable experience; with Kpmg making you feel at ease and like a part of their organisation.
