The Role
I really enjoys my Off-cycle internship at Barclays. My team is united and we used to share time together. For instance, I used to play Football with sonme of my teammates. Moreover, there are lots of events dedicated to summer interns and analysts. It is a great opportunity to meet new people and discover other teams and bank activities
My colleagues are interested in my project and ask me about its progress.
My supervisor and I used to set up a weekly catch-up in order to take stock of the progress of my project. I can show her the difficulties I met and she gives me some advice and/or ideas to pursue my work.
The project I am working on has deadlines relatively long. So, I can manage my time. My workload depends on the advance of my project. Some days I can be really busy and other it could more easy.
I was in charge of setting up an automated process to generate PDs and RWA models for Mid-corporate rating models. The automation of this process is reaaly useful for my team and this can nmeke them save time. It is really rewarding working on somethinmg that will be used by your colleagues later.
I developed great skills on several programming languages as SQL, R and LaTeX. This professional experiencehas also been the opportunity to put my statistical knowledge into pratice.
The Company
I am based in a large team (QA - Wholesale Credit risk) with about 40 members. There is a great atmosphere of trust and solidarity.
My intership is well organized with weekly catch-up with my supervisor.
I followed several trainings online. The acces to the Manager Intuition website was very helpfull and valuable.
