The Role
It was a good year at NATS, I really enjoyed the placement, getting involved with other activities aside just placement work was really interesting as well
Working with helpful emplooyees was really beneficial as people in my department were easily approachable when I needed help
I had frequent catchups with my placement and line manager to discuss my progress, this was imperative to the success I achieved during my year at NATS. I was able to identify my strengths as well as areas I needed to work on.
The tasks/projects I was working on provided a good balance. I enjoyed my the work I was doing so it didnt really feel hectic
I was responsible to deliver various task, one of my project was delivering a huge business benefit to the company so I had a huge responsibility and I was able to deliver with the support of my teammates.
I received various training about the work NATS does when I joined the company, this helped broaden my knowledge about providing Air Traffic Service . I am currently doing a final year project to provide a business benefit to NATS, the skills i gained during my placement will be vital to delivering a successful final year project
The Company
Work was really fun, people around seemed to have experienced a lot of fun in life:) and are very excited to have a chat about it. I was generally fun at the office as well as outside work during team dinners/meal etc.
well organised, I had two 6month placement in different departments within the 12 month placment period, this helped get a broader experiance as well as provide a better insight to the company
Had a lot of training I was also able to book a training when i needed to, I was also able to travel to scotland( another branch of the company) to see the other side of NATS. ( I was based in england)

There are a lot of departments you can work, depending on how successful your placement year is you will be offered a job on the graduate scheme. I am currrently waiting on a decision whether I will be coming back to work for NATS fingers crossed
The Culture
yes, fellow placement colleagues were friendly and we developed a really good bond during the placement
cost of living is not actually bad, house renting in southampton area is quite decent, so i will say not bad same goes for the social life
The night life was buzzing, southampton has got lively clubs and people as well so if you want a good night life, southampton is the placement....
Yes a lot, I had an opportunity to raise fund for charity, host NATS at RIAT and other things. I was involved with a lot of extracurricular activities
