The Role
I really enjoyed my internship experience. Among all my internship experiences I enjoyed this one the most. It was a great learning experience. Also, I met wonderful people who supported me and taught me various things throughout the whole period. We also had many networking opportunities, which allowed me to build relationships with my colleagues as well as the other interns.
I felt really valued as an equal team member. I was given real tasks and projects to work on. So I really felt like I am part of the team and I can contribute to their daily work. In addition, they always appreciated it when I did a good job and encouraged me to continue in the same way.
The support I received during the internship was incredible. All people were really amazing and I received help not only from my team, manager, buddy and mentor but also from people in other team. The support I got from my team and manager was really impressive. People spent a lot of time helping me, teaching me and guiding me.
Every day was different. There were days that were busier than others. However, it was very rewarding experience and a great opportunity to learn. Sometimes what made my days busy were the internship events we had. However, I really enjoyed them so I think it was worth it. Therefore, I think that on average I achieved a good balance.
I believe I was given a great amount of responsibility for an intern. Of course, I didn't make any of the most significant decisions that require high level of approval. However, I worked on real tasks and projects that are part of the daily work of the team. So I felt that I am experiencing what it's like to be in a graduate position as a new analyst.
I believe that during the internship I managed to develop a lot of skills - both technical and soft skills. I beleive these would be very useful for my future career. While analysing financial data I developed my technical knowledge and my presentation helped me to develop my public speaking skills. In addition, I chose some of my final year elective courses based on the knowledge I gained during the internship.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was great. People were generally quite relaxed. They make jokes and laugh very often. Of course, when they are really busy it's quieter. However, in general we had a lot of fun!
The internship was very well organised. We had many events and the organisers managed to put them in our calendars in such a way that everything went very smoothly.
I think they invested a lot in terms of formal training at the beginning of the internship. However, also during the intership many people invested incredible amount of time into training us for specific areas or even explaining to me personally various things and giving me feedback on the reports I wrote.

I really liked the job and my colleagues. I had a great experience. So I hope to get a job with the bank. But I don't know the outcome yet.
The Culture
Yes, we had many opportunities to get to know the other interns. Sometimes it was hard as people from different divisions had different free and busy periods. However, there were so many events organised that it was still very nice.
Well London is quite expensice. Especially in the city living cost are quite high. However, this is the case in general. It doesn't matter which bank you work for. You have to consider that life in London is expensive.
There are many restaurants and bars in the City. So there are many places to explore. In addition, there are many rooftop terraces with nice views.
Yes, we had the chance to participate in many activites outside of work. During our first week we had a volunteering event in a nursery, where we planted some vegies or built different things. Also, we had the chance to join some sports evvents as well as BBQ evenings organised by some of the networks in the bank.
