The Role
The last two months were the most enjoyable time of my life. I met plenty of new people and I learned a lot of new things about the banking industry as well as how technology applies to the banking sector.
As a full member of my team, I took part in all of the meetings my team had. I was given different tasks which I had to complete before, after or during the meetings. Therefore, I think that my work was highly valued.
I was given a lot of support from my teammates as well as from my manager, buddy, mentor and other people working in different teams. Also, I got support from HR and some senior people.
My schedule was different almost every day. On some days, I had a lot of mandatory events and training and on some days I didn't have much to do.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was very relaxed. This was one of the things I was really surprised by when I first joined. All people on the floor were happy to answer any questions I had.
I must say that my internship was very well organized. During the first 5 weeks of my internship I had to work together with my team and after that in the next 5 weeks I had to work on my individual project.
The company has invested a lot of money in its interns. We got paid training courses before the start of the internship and we also had many training events taking part onsite.

The Culture
I was usually going for lunch with other interns from my floor as well with some recent graduate scheme students. Also, I had a lot of lunches with my teammates.
Canary Wharf is one of the most expensive places to live at and to socialize at. I got to know from my colleagues that the monthly rent is around £1000. Also, the pubs nearby were quite expensive.
Canary Wharf is one of the best places in London where you can have fun after work. I could see plenty of people from different companies having fun throughout the week. There were many restaurants and pubs in close proximity.
