The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed the placement and found the experience both challenging and rewarding.
As an intern, it is difficult to always add value, but through mini-projects and networking, I felt valued by both my teams and the broader bank network.
Both management and my supervisors were incredibly supportive and provided guidance in everything that we did - whether this be daily tasks or long term projects.
Markets can have both hectic and quiet days - but as an intern, it was important to make the most of both of these times to fully gain from the experience.
As an intern, it is hard to always add value, however through assisting sales people and traders with daily tasks and through projects and networking, you can build up responsibility within the team.
I shall definitely utilise the quantitative, attention to detail and interpersonal skills gained in my further studies and beyond.
The Company
Generally exciting - very hard working people but always very willing to give interns time.
Campus Recruitment were flawless in the organisation of the internship programme and events.
The firm invested an incredible amount, no only in terms of salaries, but in the wider internship programme through training and networking events.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing - the firm aims to use the internship programme as the main pipeline for full-time employment.
The Culture
Very social scene - Campus Recruitment always organised senior networking events and drinks.
To be expected in London but with the salary, it is definitely managable.
Varies from night to night but generally a very social nightlife scene in the area.
Through the employment networks and organised volunteering, there are always opportunities to get involved.
