The Role
My internship at Bank of America Merrill Lynch was an amzing ride. I will love to re-live this experience over and over again.
My colleagues were phenomenal. Being from Africa, I did not feel any less respected by my colleagues or disrespected at all. We had a lot of fun and we worked hard too.
My manager was a very helpful person. He provided me with guidance when I needed it the most. One thing he told me was he would allow me to try and find solutions as much as I can. Once I hit a dead-end then he would step in.
I was mostly quite busy, yet still there was enough time for some play and drinks.
My project was a very important one. It is going to be used by quite a number of people. I will say my responsibility was as big as a full employee
My total work ethos has changed because of this internship. I see myself more ready to take on any challenge that will be given me anytime
The Company
Very dedicated and friendly at the same time
It seems my project was very well thought out. It fit my CV and helped me develop on areas I did not know about
My plane ticket was purchased for me, my accommodation was paid and I had a fairly good salary. I will say the company has really invested in me
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I am definitely going in for the kill
The Culture
We were two interns on our desk and we really had a good flow
Cost of living is very high in London
Had a lot of night parties once work ended.
A lot of invites were sent by various people of the bank which allowed us to have fun outside of work
