    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I think that the internship program at BAML was very well organized since it allowed us to get a lot of exposure to people working in the industry at all the levels, from the junior analysts to the senior MDs. In my opinion this exposure allowed us to see how the job evolves and understand if we can see urself in this industry not only for the next 3 years but also in the long run.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I always felt valued by my colleagues. They were all very approciable and willing to help me. Many times I have been taught things not because I needed them for a specific task, but just to allow me to learn for the future. Many of my colleuges proved to be buddies and mentors for me since they provided me with useful feedbacks on an ongoing basis.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I have always received all the support and guidance I needed. My staffer, DO, buddy and mentor allowed me to get more exposure to the teams i was mostly interested in as well as to a variety of projects.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Every day I had a balanced amount of work to complete that allowed me to stay busy but at the same time did not put too much pressure on me. Some times I found difficoult to follow the 9am - 10pm rule since it does not give us flexibility in case we need some more time to complete the work (especially if we have to learn how to do it takes more time than expected)

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Being my first work experience I felt that I was given real responsabilities since the first week on the desk. At the beginning the tasks that I received were simple but they allowed me to improve fast and during my last weeks I received more complex tasks with more responsability. I think that the amount of responsability given to interns increases during the internship and it is very balanced with our learning process.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that the skills I developed and the experiences I had during this internship will be a solid ground for my future career and further studies.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was positive since people are friendly, approciable and willing to help. Many times the teams organized dinners at the desk all together ordering food online which I think contributed to the general positive atmosphere.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I believe that the company invested a lot in terms of effort, time and money for the summer internship program. As a result i think that this internship program is the best compared to the one of other banks in terms of: - exposure to people (all levels of seniority) - exposure to the industry (possibility to work for as many teams as we want) - possibility to network with interns from all the divisions - possibility to meet the senior management of the company at the events - allocation of work (a variety of projects that allow to divelop different skills)
