The Role
Fascinating insights in the investment banking world. Colleagues very supportive in helping me to learn the ropes. Asked to complete work that really mattered to the firm and was very interesting to do.
Highly valued. Treated as a valuable member of the firm at all times. Worked alongside and with a number of high profile professionals in my project work.
Management very supportive and keen to ensure I was having a great experience and learning a lot. Keen to ensure I was having exposure to the areas I wanted to as well as ensuring I had the support I needed in day to day job.
Very busy. Given a wide range of work. However had time also to explore other areas of the bank, attend other meetings in other lines of business and talk to a number of other professionals in the bank.
Responsibility given from day 1. Handed significant responsibility but always had the opportunity to ask if unsure or needed clarification/work checking.
Time management skills developed very quickly given fast paced nature of day to day work. Email writing and phone manner has improved noticeably alongside numeracy skills.
The Company
Friendly and supportive. Able to talk to colleagues both about their experiences, career, and the role they are in. No one was ever 'too busy' to help which was very reassuring.
Very organised. Initial training was useful and interesting. Gave a great overview of the firm as a whole and what we were a part of.
Able to speak to a wide range of employees during the working day to find out about their experiences. Training programmes available which I took advantage of to learn about the different products and areas in the bank.

Very appealing. Able to see the paths open to me beyond the internship and given advice and help to discuss these openly.
