The Role
I enjoyed as the level of responsibilities really increased over the 10 weeks and I felt being considered almost as an analyst at the end of the internship. Moreover the staffer paid really attention to the workload which enabled to focus and discover more the industries on which I was working
My colleagues were keen on providing feedbacks and a lot of advice for my work. The bet example was the summer project were several of them took time to sit with me and gave me their impression about my work and how I should improve it then present it
I always found someone to answer the questions I had. Moreover the instructions and deadlines for the work were clear which enabled me to organize and limit the number of back and forth on a single work
It depends, some periods were quite calm, other very busy. I had to come back on some week ends but not for too long, it also depends on how you organize your day : either you rush during the whole day, either you take a bit more time but then you will end your day later
A lot of responsibilities towards the end of the internship. The level of responsibilities really increased: the beginning of the internship was more about profiles, then you can be given the responsibility for a large part of a book. Moreover the summer project forces you to work on every aspect, including valuation and modelling
I feel now able to do things I would have been a bit uncomfortable with before. I have a better view of the big picture, of how the projects are organized and of why some things are added to a book for example
The Company
The atmosphere was nice, the Summer certainly helped as the workload for the full time was a bit lighter than over the year. But I really appreciated that people take time to go out and have interactions outside office hours
Good, I was really happy with my placement and the choice of my team. I know some other people were a bit less because they did not got one of their preferences but overall almost everyone seemed happy at the end
The company made the effort to provide us with a training, mobilizing bankers from various teams during one week. Moreover, through the various conferences, we were given an overview of all the professions inside an bank, which gave us also a good view on how the firm is organized
Company Parties/Events
As every investment bank, it faces some turnover each year which forces to recruit new people. It really seems that if you proved that you are motivated enough and that you can handle the required tasks during your internship, you have a really strong chance to get an offer at the end of the internship
The Culture
The atmosphere between all the interns was great. We went out almost every Friday and over some week ends together. Moreover the class of interns is very international so it gives you an opportunity to discover a lot of things and people you would maybe never had the occasion to meet!
London is an expensive city everyone knows it but then, it is up to everyone to decide how much he wants to spend. Of course, spending nothing is impossible as some events "require" to put some money but frankly, you can "socialize" and "live" perfectly without spending too much
Very good, if you love the London atmosphere and its pubs its perfect. Then London is a very living city, almost every kind of club, restaurants etc exist in the city: everyone should be able to find ones they like
Yes, the team in which you work often go take some drinks outside. Then there are a lot of activities between the interns
