The Role
I have definitely enjoyed my internship so far. Being able to work on real life deals is a very satsifying. I've engaged in a lot of socials whilst being here and it's nice to know that life here isn't just about work, work and more work.
I fel as though there was a huge amount of responsibilty on our shoulders even as interns. I attended meetings on my own with other associates and directors. Communicated with some of the banks clients.
There was guidance given initially, but as time porgressed there was little support. This was great because it meant that we were able to work on projects completely independently. Of course, help was available should we need it.
The internship in Capital Markets has been very demanding. Working over 10 hours a day can become very tiring anf sometimes stressful. But there is some balance to the work life. It is not always busy, but when it does get busy, you can be in till midnight (or later!).
I was given a lot of responsibility during my intersnhip to the extent that everything would have to be perfect before it was sent off to any of the stakeholders. Of course this can be daunting, but once you're used to it is extremely rewarding.
I think the experience has been invaluable, noty so much in terms of my degree but more so in deciding what I want to do with my life in the future. It's been a huge eye opener into the life of an investement banker.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office was great, full of life and chatter, evceryone here is extremely sociable and you feel welcomed as part of the team. There are always jokes, which detract from the stressful nature of the role,.
The internship was well organised. I have had several meetings with my managers and colleagues. The transitioning was very smooth. Initially there were problems with the legal documents etc. but since i've been heer eveyrthing has been good.
The compnay has wanted us to work to our strengths and learn as much as possible since i've been here. I've switched between mentors to ensure that I am working alongside the pepole that will be able to assist me the most with what I want to do.

Future employment prospects are very appealing. A life within Capital Markets will be challenging, but at the same time very rewarding and fun. The perks are great and career progresssion is very appealing.
The Culture
YEs there was. We are all in this together. We help each other with anything and everything. We attend socials together and everyone is very nice and in good spirits. This can also be said for the rest of the team.
Living in London is always going to be really expensive. Especially in central london. Thankuflly Lloyds provide the acommodation to interns, so you do not need to worry about that cost.
The nightlife was very good. I can't really speak much about it as I've not been out on many occasions due to the demand of work at night and eaerly mornings. But London is always buzzing with life.
We had a charity challenge as part of work which meant that we got together as a team outside of work to try and raise money for children in need. It's been very enjoyable and we've managed to raise a lot of money,
