The Role
I generally enjoyed my internship and was kept busy throughout with various project. My line-manger made sure that I was always preoccupied and I was supported in my tasks. There were very few occassions which I felt bored.
I felt valued and supported by my colleagues at Lloyds Banking Group. I felt able to ask questions frequently and recieved frequent feedback from my colleagues which was largely positive.
I felt well supported throughout my internship. I had two line-mangers which I think was helpful since I always had someone to ask for guidance if one of my line-managers was away.
I would say that generally I was kept busy on a daily basis. There was only one day out of my 10 weeks when I felt like I did not have enough work. However, once I spoke to my line manager this situation was quickly resolved.
I feel that I was given an appropriate level of responsability during my internship. I was permitted to complete complicated tasks independently yet was given support or guidance if I needed it.
I think I have developed a variety of key skills which will be useful for later life. One of these key skills is the ability to use Excel. Before my internship I was only able to do basics things on Excel but now I feel confident in many aspects of the software.
The Company
The general atmosphere in my office was a friendly one. Most employees were willing to help me and answer any questions that I had. I did not feel shy in approaching my fellow colleagues.
I think that my internship was very well organised, something which I believed was primarily a results of my line managers Scott Kenward and Alan Chang. They insured that I had enough work to do and we had weekly meetings to discuss my progress.
Regarding training I think that this is something which could be improved upon. Although we had 'Banking Basics' seminars it would have been good to recieve more software based training, for example regarding Excel. When I was learning to use Excel I had to google a lot of the information.

Future employement prospects in the form of the Graduate scheme does appeal to me since it is well paid and I like Lloyds Banking Group as an institution. However, I think that I will explore other options before accepting a job with the,.
The Culture
Although the social scene was good regarding the willingness of interns to socialise, I think that more could be done on behalf of Lloyds Banking Group. Other institutions organise events for their interns throughout the placement but Lloyds does not do this.
Since my internship was based in London, the cost of living and socialising was quite high. This meant that I could not socialise as much as I would have liked as I did not want to spend all the money I had earnt.
Since I was based in London the Nightlife was good in the area in which I worked. However, as previously mentioned the cost of living in London is quite high and therefore I was unable to take advantage of the NIghtlife as much as I would have liked.
There were few opportunities to get involved with activities outside work that were organised by the bank itself. However, through our Charity Challenge many teams organised events through which interns could socialise with each other.
