The Role
I had the chance to experience our products and technologies. My day-to-day working experience was varied so I was not stuck in one area.
I was working with a fantastic team of engineers. Didn't take me long to learn the ropes!
I was very happy with the amount of support I received from various managers.
There may have been days which weren't productive however other days I had a quite amount of work to do.
I was given the chance to lead a project which required me to work closely with our audio branding partner. During this project I was also the single point of contact between the Engineering, Purchasing, Marketing and Design departments.
I gained a significant amount of experience this past year. It will definitely help in my studies at university with time management. My confidence was also greatly improved this year by conversing with employees all around the company.
The Company
Everyone in my department was friendly and helped with any issues I had.
The assessment centre and whole application process went very quickly without any hiccups. I was very impressed of how quick they got back to us regarding a placement.
Most of the training I gathered was by me booking my self onto a training course. This was done on an internal system which is very initiative. My team did set up various meetings to guide me through processes and testing.
Graduate salaries are very high, better than a quite a few other companies. I have my graduate assessment coming up.
The Culture
There were a few events set up by us, which was good. Would have been better if there were more. There were also departmental social events which were very good.
Coventry is cheap accommodation, if you are to live in Leamington Spa be prepared to spend a lot even for a small flat. Social aspects in Coventry is quite poor, however Warwick and Birmingham are not too far.
The clubs weren't very nice. Been out a couple of times but mostly spent my weekends in other towns, like Leicester, Loughborough and Birmingham.
There wasn't anything to get involved in outside of work. Would have been a better experience living in Coventry if there were.
