The Role
I was made to feel part of the team from the word go, this made the whole experiance far more enjoyable. Aside from this, I was given work which I knew actually mattered and knew it was contributing to the wider goal of my business unit. I cannot think of one fault with my internship/
Everyone within the office made me feel very welcome and part of the team. Even colleagues outside of my direct contact team made the effort with me. Aside from this, people listened to me and really valued what I was saying. This made me feel good about the work I was doing.
The support I received was second to none. From the word go I was being entrolled in training workshops and having daily catch ups with me manager. Having spoken to some other interns, they did not receive this same level of relationship, and for me this was a big part in both my personal and professional development.
If I'm being totally honest, it really did vary from day to day. Some days I'd get into the office at 8 in the morning and be working flat out until I went home. On other days I had long periods where I wasn't doing anything but I didn't mind this as it allowed me to capitalise on the training opportunities available.
Once again this varied. At the start of the internship the levels of responsibility I had were fairly low as I was still trying to learn the business and how the runnings of the office were. As the internship progressed I was trusted with more and I was therefore given far more responsibility, which I liked.
I got a lot of training on programmes such as excel which will be incredible valueable on my return to university. Aside from this, I really developed my people management and relationship building skills. This will come in hugely useful as I progress through my final year of university and begin my career.
The Company
The office I worked in was different to any I had worked in before. The atmosphere was very upbeat due to the contact centre nature of the office. Lloyds put real focus on creating the best team and making a difference together and this really is something that I saw evidence of throughout the duration of my internship.
The work placement was set up very well. There was a clear structure and set of objectives that the emergin talent team coined, and this was passed onto each line manager. For my internship specifically, the set up and organisation created the perfect environment for me to learn and contribute to the team to the best of my ability.
Lloyds put a lot of emphasis on finding and developing talent, and this was clearly evidenced within my internship. I went through a lot of training, sometimes on systems and processes that were quite costly. Outside of the monetary sphere, many individuals invested a great amount of time and trust in me and my work.

Having completed my internship, I am even more certain that I want to be on the Lloyds Banking Group graduate scheme. The atmostphere and environment in the office is incredible, and the ethos that Lloyds Banking Group hold so central to their business is incredible admirable.
The Culture
Social events organised which was more than I expected before I began the internship.
